Clarification on Office 365's app@sharepoint account

The"app@sharepoint" account is related to the SharePoint Applications (Auditing logs/Virus) and it is a system account that belongs to the SharePoint Sites Collection / SharePoint Farms infrastructure.

This account is created to run on all Site Collections/Personal sites to collect auditing information. When the user applies changes for his own Site Collection, or enables features or activates the site Auditing logs, his own account does not have the write permissions on the SharePoint Site Collection/Farm and the "app@sharepoint" account is used instead to run and collect all the necessary information to be provided to the customer.
